半世紀にわたる街づくりのシンボルとして

19世紀の英国で生まれた「田園都市」という理想の街づくり。この思想は、いまから半世紀前にスタートした私たち東京急行電鉄による「東急多摩田園都市」開発により日本に受け継がれました。


1966年に東急田園都市線（溝の口～長津田）、1968年に東名高速道路（東京～厚木）が開通し、その開発エリアは飛躍的に拡大。中でもたまプラーザは「東急多摩田園都市」のシンボル的な街として成長してきました。

The utopian townscaping concept known as the "garden City" emerged in 19th century England. This concept was passed on to the "Tokyu Tama Den-en-toshi" development here in Japan, which we, Tokyu Corporation, started half a century ago.


The area development expanded drastically as the Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line (Mizonokuchi-Nagatsuta) opened in 1966, and the Tomei Expressway (Tokyo-Atsugi) opened in 1968. Of these developments, Tama Plaza grew as a landmark town in Tokyu Tama Den-en-toshi.
